ATLAS M5 has started (since mid-October 2018) to provide long-term, continuous observations of concentrations of the greenhouse gases (GHGs) carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4). This activity enables evaluating GHGs emissions and their regional dynamics, and thus the efficiency of the mitigation activities against climate change.

A Picarro system enabling simultaneous, precise measurement of CO2, CH4, and H2O has been installed at the station by the ICOS ATMOSPHERE THEMATIC CENTRE.
